Most Liked

Patrons rave about the crispy batter that envelops the fresh fish, highlighting the perfect cooking method that keeps the fish moist and flavorful. The chips receive high praise too—golden brown exteriors contrasting with fluffy, soft interiors create a stellar combination. Many reviews specifically mention the deliciousness of the gravy and mushy peas, elevating the traditional meal to new heights.

Customers appreciate the extensive menu that offers a variety of choices, from classic fish and chips to chicken bites and pies. Plus, the quick service and the option to enjoy a dab while you wait add a bit of fun to the experience. The friendly owners create a welcoming atmosphere, making each visit pleasant and memorable.

Most Disliked

While The Cod's Pollocks is widely praised, a few reviews point out wait times during peak hours, particularly on weekends when the place gets busy. Some patrons feel that occasionally the fish can be slightly oily, although the majority still find it enjoyable. A few customers wish for more variety in side options, particularly if they are after lighter fare or more vegetable-based accompaniments. Overall, these critiques seem minor compared to the positive experiences noted by the majority.

Went to watch Accrington vs Walsall game. Travelled up from The midlands and spotted this chippy on the way to the ground. Honestly one of the best haddock and chips I’ve ever had. Fish was fresh and tasty. The batter was perfectly cooked and the chips were incredible. Hot and crispy on the outside whilst the inside were fluffy and soft. Lovely owners. Please ignore the negative comments as I thought this place was incredible. Well worth a try and well worth every penny.
